Operating and Contingency Extract

Client requested an extract report containing order details to mirror the same doses on the patient MAR.  Filters for this report included site, nursing unit, date and time range, wardstock, home med, narcotics, specific exclusion, and dispense category.

Challenges:

• calculating past and future doses for various schedules and frequencies
• multi-item orders
• output of date fields in both 0000 and 2400 base
• prompt filters with multiple values
• performance considerations

Inventory Management

Client requested an extract report mostly identical to the Operating and Contingency extract but with an aggregate dose quantity for each combination of site, nursing unit, room, bed, MRN, formulary code, and order number.  Since the design of the Operating and Contingency extract was modular this report was completed in almost no time with the output module being the majority of the code change.

Quality Assurance

Client requested a screen view-able report which is used as an audit of all orders that did not qualify for the Operating and Contingency extract.  Similar to the Inventory Management report this report was quickly completed due to the modular design.

Drug Utilization AdHoc

Client requested a tab delimited extract report which is used to query pharmacy prescription utilization. Filters for this report included site, date range, AHFS range, generic name, and medical service.

Drug Utilization Data Warehouse

Client requested a tab delimited extract report which can be run on a regular schedule for collecting pharmacy prescription utilization for the previous day.
